Trying to work my way out of misery

My conversion from "salvation by works" to "salvation by grace alone" came after years--no decades--of trying harder and harder to overcome my sinfulness and my guilt because I was not perfect.

John MacArthur's radio sermon today reminded me of that. Here is an excerpt of his sermon that brought back memories of my attempts to gain self-worth through taking on lots of responsibilities (once in college, I had 5 different callings at the same time).
