Here is an interesting video (mostly audio really) that presents the idea that a Mormon God was once a man who may or may not have sinned during his mortal life.
The topic is set up with the famous Mormon phrase: "As man is God once was." The Mormon interviewed does a good job articulating his position.
I think most Mormons would fall into two schools of thought: God either lived a sinless mortal life (like Jesus did when He was on earth) OR God was a sinner like all other mortals but was made righteous by his redeemer (whoever that was).
For Christians, the debate on these two points is irrelevant because God has always been God.

It's disturbing that the boy is fine with not having specifics on the God of the universe. Who God is is not set in stone to him.
ReplyDeleteWith that in mind, he could be totally wrong about his eternal destiny. Isn't that important enough to want to find out if one is right or wrong?
I guess if everyone in your church is of the same mindset, you don't feel a need to question it.
